Scans With Errors
Can you find the error/s in these scans?
Spine 1
- Artifact at Th 11-12 level
- Scan started too low
- Spine is not strait
- Scan ended too high
Spine 2
- Artifact (safety pin) at L2-L3 level
Spine 3
- Artifact (barium meal)
Spine 4
- Artifact (bilateral ureteral stents)
Spine 5
- At first glance nothing unusual. After changing brightness and contrast (see Spine 6) visible constipation along whole portions of colon. Scan repeated after few days and the BMD was changed.
Spine 7
- Artifact (surgical pins) at L5 and sacrum level
- Scan does not have enough of T12 vertebrae
Spine 8
- Artifact (naval ring)
- Scan is not centered
Spine 9
- Artifact (keys hanging on the chain)
Hip 1
- Scan ended too soon, not enough soft tissue above great trochanter
- On the right side of the femur, at first looked like bone tumor. After changing the brightness and contrast clearly visible artifact (suspender)
Hip 2
- Scan aborted after unusual image on the right side of the femur at the lesser trochanter level. After proper positioning, patient placed her hand on her leg.
Hip 3
- Artifact present (Swiss pocket knife)
Hip 4
- Scan is not centered, not enough soft tissue around great trochanter
- Femur shaft is not straight
- Scan ended too soon, not enough soft tissue above great trochanter
